Pesto pizza

Ingredients (makes 1 pizza)

  • Pizza dough, see here.
  • Pesto, see here.
  • Parmesan cheese.
  • Pecorino cheese, grated.
  • Cherry tomatoes.


  1. Prepare the dough 2 hours before you start making the pizza.
  2. Prepare the basil pesto as well.
  3. Preheat the oven to 170 °C (air and bottom heat).
  4. Cut the parmesan into thick slices.
  5. Shape the dough and add the pesto, the pecorino and the parmesan cheese to taste.
  6. Place the pizza on the lowest rack in the oven and bake for 20 minutes (around 30 if you prefer it crispy).
  7. Cut the tomatoes into round slices and garnish the pizza.
  8. Also garnish with some basil leaves.

  1. That looks lovely! We make pesto pizzas a lot at my house, but usually smother them over with much more cheese on top than you did… I should try the less-is-more approach for a greener and more colorful pizza! : )

      • I love the idea of a baking day, and given that we suvievrd without an oven for nearly a year (gasp!) I think it should be instated starting now. We had a gas stove that worked fine, but the stove components were electrical so the temp, time etc couldn’t be programmed but now we have a new gas stove and my boys love baking too thanks for the inspiration!~Erin
